Senior Accounting Specialist

NKT Lithuania is looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining Accounts Receivable duties. This position primarily focuses on ensuring that all  Customer payments are processed with efficiency and quality according to predefined standards and work processes. Wide range of responsibility:

The position is based in Kaunas and will report to AR/MD Team Lead. The position will have close interaction with Customer Service department and Sales/Project departments as well as direct contact with Customers

  • General accounting and bookkeeping according to local, international and industry specific accounting requirements.
  • Participate in period-close procedures.
  • Interact with managers, colleagues and counterparties in a professional and proactive manner, prepare

    requested documentation.

  • Take care of Financial Master Data and Controlling (process ownership), identify and correct


  • Oversee and handle legal compliance processes (VAT, statistics, statutory reporting, corporate tax

    return, foreign VAT collection, withholding tax).

  • Support audit activities and liaise with auditors (both internal and external).

  • Periodically validate balance sheet accounts against supporting documents/data.

  • Deliver accurate reports to clients and assist senior members of the team in preparation of other daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly documents.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Train and educate new and junior team members.
  • Pro-actively solve or escalate unforeseen issues and exceptions.
  • Provide data for management reporting when requested.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, be in contact with the local banks and assist with the cash flow forecasting for the local markets.
  • Participate in assigned projects in order to support business needs and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities and run process improvement initiatives to achieve ever greater accuracy,

    financial control and efficiency.

  • Participate in onboarding of new markets and transformation projects: including preparation of

    training materials, couching new colleagues to ensure smooth accounting process.

  • Perform ad hoc tasks that require knowledge of accounting standards and best practices.

  • Serve as a deputy team leader.

  • Execute all other position related tasks delegated by line manager

Requirements for the position:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, accounts receivables/payables/general ledger accounting from a Shared Services organisation or a major company is preferred.
  • Qualified in Finance & Accounting, with an in-depth knowledge and a good overall picture; should be able to perform independently with little guidance.
  • Familiarity with more than one accounting package, a good command of SAP or a similar ERP

    system is preferred.

  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools and MS Excel in particular.
  • Good understanding of internal controls & risk management practices.
  • Audit experience
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to details.
  • Fluent written and oral English.
