IT Business Partner (m/f/d)

In this very advanced and innovative production process in the cable industry, IT is a central element in driving improvements in quality, productivity and production processes. Reporting to the VP Operational Excellence and functionally to the Group CIO you will partner with all stakeholders within Business Line and IT to enquire, qualify and prioritize particularly Factory IT demand in a strategic roadmap.


Your responsibilities:
You will be fully responsible for the IT architecture and management of all components of the operational technology (OT) starting on the lowest level of industrial sensors, PLCs, SCADA up to any application required to run and monitor manufacturing processes and machines operated within the dedicated factory network. Furthermore, you will recommend the delivery of Factory IT solutions/projects/services supporting business processes/projects, resulting in improved efficiency, effectiveness, quality and/or operational functionality and will monitor the delivery of IT service/support within area of responsibility. You demand effective interfaces between local/group IT teams for all business activities and always monitor and demand adherence to agreed service level, strive for closing any gaps, proactively strive for improvements and delivery excellence and insisting, that agreed time, budget and quality specifications are met. One of your most important tasks is to represent the Business within IT Function and the IT Function within the Business, supports building of satisfaction with IT services by assessing and managing expectations, making sure actions are taken to close any gaps, and influencing senior stakeholder perceptions of IT service. You manage relationships with senior stakeholders to update on status (e.g. on active IT projects) and resolve issues. Further key tasks are: 

  • Support the installation / management / maintenance / optimization of Factory IT and cross-functional processes related to area of responsibility.
  • Consult and provides input for any (Factory) IT related incident, change or project which has, or might have, a major impact on area of responsibility, and/or on the whole of IT. Informs and consults relevant IT colleagues on any IT change or IT project assignments impacting others' areas of responsibility.
  • Proactively develop and maintain the area of responsibility, always ensuring alignment to given goals, and compliance with NKT IT Enterprise Architecture, any relevant IT Standards and any other applicable NKT Group Directives and NKT Group Guidelines
  • Knowledge sharing with the NKT community of Factory IT specialists, particularly with sister factory in Sweden/Karlskrona 


Your background:
The role will require to change between hands-on and conceptional approach as situation requires. Furthermore,  you have more than several years of relevant experience preferable with a high focus on factory IT and a Bachelor or Master degree (Engineering, business/economics or Information Technology) and/or equivalent experience. At least you can prove 3-5 years leadership experience managing people at different levels with strong communication skills including ability to influence indirectly and you have expert knowledge in operational technology, preferably also data analytics, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and automation solutions with focus on operational technology. Additionally, you have continuous improvement and change management experience with a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma and/or similar would be a plus. Further important qualifications are: 

  • Demonstrated strong results in executing technology driven operational improvement programs, including shop floor staff capability lift
  • Demonstrated ability to network in a matrix type organization structure and to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables
  • Passionate about end-user Experience 
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new 
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines 
  • Fluency in English and German
