Bid Manager (m/f/d) for large HV Cable Projects (Offshore & HVDC)

We are looking to attract an experienced Bid Manager (m/f/d) who will be instrumental in ensuring the commercial success of large HV Cable Projects (Offshore & HVDC). In this role, you will lead and complete complex tender processes based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for NKT.


Your responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the functional management of the tender teams as well as for the technical guidance of the proposal managers. You define the tender strategy and implement it accordingly. You are also responsible for the correct and timely preparation of tenders based on the proposal strategy. You will conduct tender negotiations and customer meetings as well as operate as interface manager with project partners. In addition you will ensure compliance with all internal processes and rules and the project-related legal, commercial and technical framework conditions. Further key tasks are:

  • Ensuring interface coordination (among other things to heads of specialist departments such as Engineering, Sales etc.)
  • Timely and content-related execution of work packages such as design management, calculation, legal and commercial review
  • Implementation of requirements analyses and risk workshops with specialist departments
  • Support in budget planning and strategy tasks as well as market analyses
  • Improvement and development of work equipment/tools (IT)


Your background: 
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in industrial engineering and/or management. In addition, you have initial work experience in the field of tender management or project management. Ideally, you already have experience in managing small teams or employees. Your working style is characterized by structured, analytical thinking combined with good business sense and risk management skills. Further important qualifications are:

  • Communication and negotiation are also among your strengths
  • Cooperative and solution-oriented approach with the ability to effectively meet deadlines and high self-motivation. 
  • Desire to learn about new technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deliver on time, even under time pressure
  • English and German language skills in spoken and written are mandatory
