Procurement Category Lead, Group Procurement

Group Procurement at NKT is a successful growing function and we currently have a number of highly interesting vacancies within both direct and indirect category management. As a Procurement Category Lead you will be at the centre of our efforts in providing meaningful strategic sourcing solutions to the business. Our Category Leads handling Central Costing are reporting directly to our CPO.

 

Can you see yourself as our new Category Lead?

In this high-profile role, you will be exposed broadly to the organization at all levels. You are therefore expected to possess the needed curiosity, natural authority and strategic Procurement skills to engage effectively with the business.

 

Effectively, you will be the partner to the business on sourcing solutions within your category, having the full end-to-end responsibility.


Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Be the supply market expert, maintaining an up to date view on the supply market and the relevant options available
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relations
  • Develop and regularly update the category strategy
  • Continuously develop the supplier portfolio to match the increasing requirements
  • Drive supplier relationship management and key supplier partnerships
  • Negotiate frame agreements, supply agreements, price agreements
  • Execute on Procurement projects, cost-out opportunities and drive value creation
  • Drive the transformation agenda, develop and mature the category, improve ways of working, value creation and exploit new technologies and tools

Who we are:
Group Procurement is globally responsible for strategic, tactical and in some cases also operational procurement. Our skilled employees represent multiple nationalities and we are working out of both HQ in Broendby, Denmark , but also from our plant locations throughout Europe.

 

Stakeholder collaboration, strategic flair and ability to engage and execute

Some of the keys to succeeding in this role will be to engage effectively with internal stakeholders across borders and cultures, understand the busines needs and translate these into sourcing solutions – and executing on these. Also, you will need to be able to navigate effectively across business lines in a growing international organization where priorities can be both short- and long term.


You have commercial and strategic flair and are able to maintain the big picture overview in a workday which can be busy from time to time, but certainly also fun and rewarding.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Commercially oriented M.Sc. degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years category management experience within an international organization, and/or consultancy experience with proven track record in generating valuable business results
  • Proven supplier relationship management skills and experience
  • High level proficiency in English - both verbal and written
  • Structured, positive and constructive mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Solid references

 

Expected travel days are 20-40 days/year. This will primarily be across Europe.
