Procurement Category Lead, Professional Services

Become a member of our newly established Procurement team catering to our expanding projects business

Have you already proven your ability to drive and develop one or more Procurement categories and are you looking for your next challenge within a green and growing company? Or are you perhaps a successful consultant looking to further develop and put your skills and toolbox to work within an industry leading company?

Then we have the right job for you!

As Procurement Category Lead for Professional Services in Group Procurement you will be at the centre of our efforts in sourcing world-class external key resources, needed for the execution of major global energy projects out of our high voltage plants in Sweden and Germany.

Can you see yourself as our new Category Lead for Professional Services?

The NKT “Solutions division”, which will be your key internal customer, is responsible for tendering and executing large high voltage cable and turnkey projects. For you it means engaging early in the tender phase, using your insights, drive and personality to identify and facilitate innovative and efficient sourcing solutions to the business and making sure these are executed, once the order is won.

In this role you will work tactically and strategically, being the supply market expert and partner to the business, having the full end-to-end responsibility for sourcing of Professional Services (external resources).

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relations both internally and externally
  • Develop and regularly update the category strategy
  • Drive the transformation agenda, develop and mature the category, improve ways of working, value creation and exploit new technologies and tools
  • Own and continuously optimize the sourcing process for professional services
  • Process sourcing requests
  • Continuously develop the supplier portfolio to match the increasing requirements
  • Negotiate frame agreements
  • Execute on Procurement projects, cost-out opportunities and drive value creation

Who we are:
You will be a part of Procurement “Project Services” – a newly established team of Category Leads within the multi-national Group Procurement organisation, headquartered in Broendby, Copenhagen. Our team is responsible for the categories where project specific solutions are often required and catering to the high voltage project business within NKT. You will report directly to the Director of Procurement Project Services.

Stakeholder collaboration, strategic flair and ability to engage and execute

Some of the keys to succeeding in this role will be to engage effectively with internal stakeholders across borders and cultures, understand the busines needs and translate these into sourcing solutions – and executing on these. Also, you will need to be able to set up a category effectively, utilizing available resources in the organization where relevant and working with other Procurement functions.

You have commercial and strategic flair and are able to maintain the big picture overview in a workday which can be busy from time to time, but certainly also fun and rewarding.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Commercially oriented M.Sc. degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years category management and/or consultancy experience with proven track record in generating valuable business results
  • High level proficiency in English - both verbal and written
  • Structured, positive and constructive mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid references

Expected travel days are 15-25 days/year. This will primarily be across Europe.
