Either as Associate Category Manager or, in case you have already proven yourself successful in managing one or more direct material categories, as Category Manager. Or perhaps you have worked as consultant for a few years and want to pursue your next career move within a leading industry company.  

 

Can you see yourself as our new Associate Category Manager/Category Manager?

As a procurement (Associate) Category Manager you will be at the centre of our efforts in providing meaningful strategic sourcing solutions to the business, catering to our cable plants.

Depending on your experience level, we will either team you up with an experienced senior colleague to fast track your development and/or you will be assigned one or more categories for you to own and run.

You will become part of a team of eight, having an open, informal atmosphere where knowledge sharing, continuous development and genuine interest in creating real value adding sourcing solutions to the business is in focus.


Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Secure external capacity for future volume growth at attractive terms
  • Be the supply market expert and partner to the business
  • Develop and regularly update (sub)category strategies and project pipeline
  • Continuously develop the supplier portfolio to match the increasing requirements
  • Drive supplier relationship management and key supplier partnerships
  • Negotiate valuable frame/supply/price agreements, utilizing market intelligence on raw materials and cost drivers
  • Potentially work closely with one or more senior colleagues to build experience and fast-track growth

 

Who we are:

Group Procurement at NKT is a global, successful, growing function working across all sites and business lines and our skilled employees represent multiple nationalities, working out of both HQ in Broendby, Denmark and our plant locations throughout Europe. Within direct materials we are currently 8 team members, representing 5 nationalities, located in 4 different countries. Some travel, primarily within Europe is to be expected.


Stakeholder collaboration, strategic flair and ability to engage and execute

To succeed in this role, you thrive with challenges, enjoy working with stakeholders and have the ability to transform data and intelligence, into actionable sourcing strategies. You are expected to possess the needed curiosity, natural authority, and strategic procurement skills to engage effectively with the business and suppliers. Also, you will need to be able to navigate effectively across business lines in a growing international organization where priorities can be both short- and long term.


You have a positive and constructive mindset focusing on opportunities rather than obstacles and have commercial and strategic flair.

 

Key preferred qualifications

  • University degree within Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar
  • 1-7 years’ experience and success within category/supply chain management of direct materials
  • Expertise within metals category is a plus
  • High level proficiency in English - both verbal and written
